In 1978, I founded the first workshop, and although initially the idea was to manufacture both cases and guitars, at that time what customers asked for most were cases. In just a few years, it became the most important case factory in the world, exporting truckloads of cases all over the globe. Given my lifelong passion for guitars, I personally delivered the cases to the luthiers in Madrid, with whom I spent every afternoon. At that time, the city's most renowned luthiers knew me well, and my passion for guitars grew even stronger over time. Although during those years we dedicated ourselves almost exclusively to case manufacturing, my father continued to come to the workshop almost daily, where he spent as many hours as he liked each day making guitars as a hobby, and whenever I could, I would join him in the workshop. It was during this time that he taught me everything he knew about guitar making. When my father passed away, I was the one making guitars as a hobby, until the day I decided to launch them on the market. At first, they were very handcrafted pieces, and shortly after, we expanded the workshop to produce quality instruments at more competitive prices. Over the years, Antonio de Toledo guitars have carved out a niche in the Spanish guitar market, offering quality instruments for both beginners and professional concert players. Last year, we decided to create a line of guitars in honor of my father, José Fernández. However, he always used his second surname, Rincón, so we decided to launch these wonderful guitars under the name "José Rincón," which have been very well received. In the José Rincón range, we pay even more attention to detail, and all our guitars feature a one-piece top that extends to the heel. This is very laborious work, but it's something that the most discerning guitarists appreciate. Furthermore, we carefully selected the woods for the top and soundboard, in order to guarantee an even better sound.
